The MCCList

So, you like our page and enjoy the lovely Ms. Carpenter, but you wonder, "gee, what are the authors of this webpage on??" Wait, we mean, you wonder, "Where can I find other people who don't necessarily have webpages but also love to talk about MCC?" You've come to the right place! The MCCList is a mailing list made up of a group of poeple who love MCC and will talk about her all the time! (Unless we're talking about her buddies, Shawn Colvin, Indigo Girls, Lucinda Williams, etc.) Be prepared, when something new is happening you may get as many as 20 emails a day (rare but possible); usually it's more on the order of about 5 a day. So, our sales pitch has worked and you want to subscribe? Send an email to majordomo@world.std.com from the address you intend to subscribe from. In the body of the message, type "subscribe mcclist" (and if you want to unsubscribe, send a letter to the same address with the message "unsubscribe mcclist.")  There is also a digest version, and for this you follow the exact same rules, except type "subscribe mcclist-digest" (and "unsubscribe mcclist-digest"). Note that you don't want to use the quotes.  Now, of course, to keep it friendly, here are some rules we ask you to follow:

1. Please be polite and respectful of other members' opinions. While you might not always agree with someone, you should respect their right to have an opinion, even if you think they're nuts.
2. Be succinct. Remember that many members receive their mail at their workplace and may not have time to read long missives. Avoid including other messages in your reply unless it's absolutely necessary.
3. Private responses to individual e-mails should happen off list. Make sure that your mail is of interest to several members before posting to the list. (Yes, we all accidentally break this one sometimes, so don't get your underwear in a knot if this happens a couple of times.)
4. Keep on or near the topic of Mary Chapin Carpenter. Some digression is ok but try not to let it get out of hand.
