John let his talents shine in his December 13 performance. He was "in the round" with three other performers; Tim Krekel, Malcolm Holcombe, and Peter Keane. The first song he performed was "Another Town." He also performed my favorites; "Everybody Loves Me," and "Night Will Fall." He surprised everyone by throwing in an un-released song, "Circus Town," which may appear on his next album. John's wonderful sense of humor was also a high point of the evening. He was always quick to come up with a humorous line, or anecdote. He also jumped in and helped out his fellow performers a few times with some improvised riffs. He sang his song "Willie Short," with a lot of emotion. The light hearted "Monday Night," was the song he ended his performance with. It was so wonderful to see him in person, I'm glad I had the opportunity to see him. He is a real person, very talented, and I'm very glad that I know him. I anxiously await his next album!
